When do you need electricity the most? Sure, in the morning when you get up and then again in the evening when everyone is back in the house. But your photovoltaic system only produces during the day - when you need less electricity. So you feed diligently into the grid. And when you need electricity, you have to buy it again. But what if you could now store your electricity all to yourself, available at any time? You and your house would be independent!

innovenergy offers you ecologically harmless salt-based home storage for your PV system:

The salidomo© is an AC-coupled salt battery storage system that works with all PV inverters. The installed battery inverter capacity is 9 kVA. DC coupling of the photovoltaic system via our MPPTs is also possible. We will be happy to advise you.

The battery storage capacity for the two salidomo© is as follows:

Definition of emergency power

Without emergency power
In the event of a grid failure, the entire system stops operating and cannot be used any further. Neither the PV system works nor the battery storage system is available.  

Off-grid operation/UPS
With an island-capable battery storage system, the system continues to function completely without the grid in the event of a grid failure. The battery continues to be charged via the PV system. Subsequent technical requirements can be found under "Emergency power supply". 

UPS means uninterruptible power supply. This means that in the event of a power failure, the system automatically switches to off-grid operation in less than 20 msec and continues to function independently.

Emergency power supply

The salidomo© is optionally available as an island-capable UPS salt battery storage system. In this case, the system automatically switches to island operation in less than 20 milliseconds in the event of a mains failure and continues to function autonomously. In order for the battery to continue to use solar power without a grid, either a Fronius inverter (SYMO series) would have to be used as the PV inverter or a DC/DC solar charge controller from Victron or Studer. 

ATTENTION: The maximum PV power that may be connected to the emergency power output of the salidomo© 9/18 is 9 kW. If DC/DC solar charge controllers from Victron or Studer are used, this power restriction does not apply. For more information on this topic, please contact Victron.

There are no early recycling or disposal fees. However, the transport of the battery to be discarded back to the manufacturer in Stabio/CH must be borne by the customer. There, the complete battery is returned to its raw material cycle.


Without further conditions, the salt battery is covered directly by the manufacturer with a time-value guarantee of 10 years. The battery inverters are covered by a 5-year warranty. Everything else is covered by a standard 2-year warranty. The warranty is an device warranty. Travel costs and working hours will be charged separately in the event of replacement or faults, unless you have subscribed to a service contract for the relevant year.

Extension options

If the storage demand increases, another battery can be added at any time (even years later) without any problems. The storage capacity then increases by 9 kWh to 18 kWh total storage capacity. Both batteries can be operated with the three Victon AC inverters. 

Advantages of the salt battery

The salt batteries of the innovenergy storage solution are made of harmless materials: 32 % common salt, 22 % nickel, 22 % iron, 20 % ceramic.

The recycling of the salt battery has been standardised for 15 years. The metals are melted down and returned to the metal industry. The battery is manufactured 100% in Switzerland according to Swiss environmental and labour standards.

The salt battery is absolutely safe - the rooms do not need any fire protection or fire warning devices as the battery is neither flammable nor can it explode. It can also be operated in very cold and very warm rooms (-20° to +60° C) without ventilation or air conditioning. The outside temperature does not affect the storage capacity or the service life.

The battery survives a total discharge without damage. The salt battery has a service life of at least 15 years (10-year guarantee) and is maintenance-free.

The salt battery is extremely robust and is used by the thousands in the telecommunications industry. In industry, it is considered a cheap and safe electricity storage technology in the long term. With innovenergy, this technology is now also available for domestic use and for businesses.
