Energy autarky without restrictions
25 Swiss francs a year is the electricity bill of Mark and Barbara in a small village near Solothurn. Steadily rising electricity prices no longer interest them. Their detached house with a small hobby workshop is completely self-sufficient. The system can bridge three days in winter or in fog with its various storage tanks. Gerber Energietechnik AG from Gümligen near Bern is responsible for the energy concept and its implementation.
MIGROS receives the largest salt battery storage facility in Switzerland"Now we are ready for great things," says Max Ursin, Managing Director of innovenergy and the project's mastermind. In a collaboration of six different companies from four countries, a 540 kWh salt battery storage system now stands in the basement of MIGROS Schlieren/ZH.
The railway company BLS sets a good example
BLS is constantly modernising its technology and applying future-oriented innovative solutions. The new technical building and the switching station in Holligen/BE are powered by photovoltaics. The system was installed by the Ruswil-based company Alectron AG. A new feature was the storage of the electricity in a salt battery. This sustainable and ecological storage system was manufactured by Innovenergy GmbH from Meiringen. This system represents a pilot plant with an independent power supply.
